1984: Provmar Fuels Inc.was founded as a joint venture between Upper Lakes Shipping Ltd. (ULS) and Canada Steamship Lines (CSL) after identifying a requirement for marine bunkering in Hamilton Harbour.

1987: A secondr Terminal was purchased which increased the total storage capacity by over 100%.

1988: Provmar Transport was created. This would become a wholly owned trucking company which enabled Provmar Fuels Inc. to be supplied in house. Provmar Transport operated a fleet of 11 trailers, and when they were not busy supplying Provmar Fuels they would transport product for a number of third party customers.

1993: A corporate decision was made to wind up Provmar Transport. To that effect in 1994 the company was sold to Trimac Transportation who through their subsidiary company TriPlus, still supply Provmar Fuels with most of their transportation requirements. TriPlus is a transportation brokerage company which utilizes the expertise of several contractors to ensure that properly trained and efficient operators perform the specialized natures of vessel deliveries.

Provmar Contract Logistics is another subsidiary transportation company owned by Trimac. The trucks on the highways have no relationship to Provmar Fuels Inc.

1993: Provmar Fuels Inc. expanded into the land industrial fuel market, primarily to service companies who burn HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) when their primary fuel of natural gas is interrupted.
